New components include the rugged polyethylene petrol tank with a 40l/h pump; the non-return fuel circuit has quick-fit connections. The exhaust system has a "closed loop" lambda probe and the three-way catalyzer has been redesigned and optimized to meet Euro 3 requirements. The catalyzer section on the silencer and the area around the passenger footpegs have been covered with stainless steel protection. The rear mudguard has a new separate number plate carrier with an independent illumination light. The saddle has been redesigned and has new padding to improve both rider and passenger comfort. The chassis can be fitted with a main stand that is available as an optional extra. The suspension system remains unchanged except for the Marzocchi forks that now have the same black sleeves as on the 450 and 510 models. The 2008 version of the SM 610 will have Tommaselli tapered handlebars with new steering head clamps and no cross bar. Color schemes will include the classic red / white like on the machine of Gerald Delepine who so dominated the recently concluded 2007 Supermoto Championship. A dark grey color scheme will also be available.
